Vector elements position error

This has grown to become one of the most annoying of all mysterious errors in XD:

I draw a box with the rectangle tool in XD.

I make a copy of this. Same height. Same width.

I position one of the boxes 1px above the other.

The two boxes align as expected.

I add a textbox and put this in the center of the topmost box...

... Then all of a sudden the boxes gets misaligned with 1px and it's totally impossible to get them aligned again cause the box underneath acts like a negative magnet to the other. If I nudge it to the left 1px it passes the edge of the other box, if I nudge it 1px to the right it does the same. They never align!! It's like an opposite magnet that refuses to align although they share the exact same width. I checked to see if any properties were magically added to one of the boxes, like a border or something but they are both the same with no border. I vary between point text and area text. Nothing changes. I open a new document and do the exact same thing with no problems. What is going on here??! The issue seems very random but it happens every day. I have of course also tried this same exercise with no textbox and the same shit occurs, so it's acting very odd.

I'm on W10. All up to date. XD is all up to date. My workstation is new and everything else is working fine in other Adobe programs like PS, IN, ILL.

Hi Perrybrus,

Thanks for using Adobe XD and sharing the details about this issue. I have tried to replicate the situation here and it works as expected.

Could you please share the screenshot or a video so that we can check what exactly is going on and how we can replicate it?

Thanks,

Atul_Saini

As mentioned in other posts, both by me and others, it's hard to replicate an error than occurs randomly. XD is buggy and what works one day can be failing the other. I can't produce a film but it is just like in your setup. One vector element on top of the other. It's driving me mad not knowing what causes the loss of alignment and as mentioned this situation occurs randomly. I can only speculate and my best guess is that the border property isn't working correctly. I have noticed that sometimes it lives its own life and skips to carrying a transparent property although the border is ticked off. I also notice that it sometimes chooses a set gray color without my involvement and with the border set to 0. Sometimes the border property decides all by itself to open the stroke value panel and it says 1, this although the border is ticked off. I can't see any border applied but something is not right with that feature. Again, this is XD for'ya. Buggy and always changing directions.

I certainly understand that the situation is intermittent, I would request you to capture the screenshot or make a video if it happens again. It would help us to see whats going on and proceed towards to resolutions.

Thanks,

This has been documented before with screenshot and description. Don't have the time to make a movie about this, just want it to resolve.
