What is the Default Auto Save location in WIndows?

I was working on a local file and my system crashed. I need to see if the file is recoverable. Is this even possible on a local file?

Isn't the file available in the most recent files list?

It is but that is not the instance of the most recent before it quit unexpectedly unfortunately. Antyways, I gave up looking for it. I am in the slow process of doing it all again.
