I have been using a workflow where I export artboards from XD to my After Effects project and it had been saving image files in a folder next to my After Effects project file. Today it suddenly started to save them to a temp folder on my hard drive instead which completely breaks my workflow. Now I have to manually copy the files out to my project folder and relink every time I bring in an artboard.
I had been able to use this workflow on both my PC and MacBook, and after it stopped working on my PC today I tried it on my MacBook and it has also started saving to a random folder on the the MacBook's hard drive instead of my After Effects project file.
Is this something I can manually set in a preferences menu or something? I can't find anything in any of my searches.

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out to us!
I tried in xd-50 to export the artboard from xd and it is getting exported to AE.
In order to invistigate further, please share the below listed info:
1. Version of XD used
2. Is it with all the files or specific file
3. Please share the short video of it.
Thanks,
Chaitanya

Thanks Chaitanya, the version of XD is 50.0.12 and it's happening both with files being given to me by a designer as well as also when I create new projects and drop my own image into XD and send to After Effects.
I've included a couple captures of what I did, although it didn't capture the menus. I'm simply going to Export -> After Effects in XD, and then Reveal in Explorer in After Effects and the file is in located here: C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Temp\Untitled — April 25, 11.53.43 AM
The After Effects project had already been saved, but the XD picture was still placed in the above temp location instead of next to the After Effects project.

We have observed the file is saving in default location C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Untitled — April 26, 10.01.33 AM
I think it will take default location for export.
Thanks,
Chaitanya
