XD issue with Illustrator CS5?

Community Beginner ,

Does anyone know how to transfer vector graphics into XD from Illustrator CS5?

I have tried what is suggested in tutorials;

  1. copying the vector to the artboard and pasting into XD,
  2. or saving the illustrator file as an SVG and dragging that file into XD.

Neither of these work at all.

Is it a problem with compatibility between Illustrator CS5 and XD and if so is there a way around it please?

Is this on Mac or Windows?

If Windows, the feature isn't quite there yet (parity with Mac), should be there soon in a follow up release.

This is on Windows 10.

Ah I see, thanks for letting me know. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's quite soon.

You should upvote this story to get the latest information: [Windows] Paste from Illustrator – Adobe XD Feedback : Feature Requests & Bugs

Please note that CS5 is a really old version of Illustrator, so we can't guarantee the fidelity of a copy and paste from that version. We're working to ensure compatibility with the latest version of Illustrator (2017), which I believe is about eight versions more recent than CS5.

Thanks,

Yes that is a very good point thank you.

Just so long as I know as it is for work so will suggest updating if I definitely can't copy and paste from that older version.

Any idea when the next update will be available to download for Windows please?

Thanks again.

We're currently working on our January release, which should be out later this month.
