We currently use Adobe XD for all our projects. However, I heard that Adobe will soon stop providing updates and support for XD. Should we switch to another platform like Figma, or continue working with XD?

@Jackurian Eventually it will happen...when, Adobe will likely give the 'end game'.... it's always good to learn other applications. Figma is a powerful program, and since you have XD experience, some of the lingo with be the same like components, assets, variables, etc.

I have not heard any official word of when Adobe will stop supporting XD, but it's no longer being developed, new users can't get it, and it will not be supported forever. I'd recommend switching to something else (like Figma) as soon as you can so you can. Figma is similar in many ways, but more powerful so there's more features to learn. Good luck in your transition.

@Dan Rodney new users can still get XD....only if they get the 'All Apps' plan. It would be under the More Apps.

I've experienced that some new users can find it, while other times it's not available. Even I, as someone who has used XD for years, occasionally struggle to locate a download for it when working on a different machine.

@MichaelCab that's interesting! Whenever I teach a new intake, we do teah them both Xd and Figma. But, making sure they have access to Xd when the time comes, we normally get them to install the Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop first, and when the time rolls around to do Wireframes, Mockups and Prototypes, Xd should be there.

@creative explorer I'm a teacher as well! 😀 I would advise against teaching new people XD at this point (given it has no future). Just stick to Figma so they learn the app that's become the industry standard.

Sorry if I wasn't clear about new users. Adobe is no longer selling new XD only subscriptions (they don't want new people actively choosing a product that has no future). Yes people can get it as part of the all apps plans (but may need to reach out to get Adobe to even show XD to them).
XD is dead, not being actively developed (only supported for existing users), so everyone should be switching to something that is being actively developed (like Figma) as soon as possible.

@Dan Rodney kinda agree and kinda don't agree... we are still getting asked by companies looking for Xd creatives.... as I tell my students, if companies still use Xd, take the job.... it's better than no job
or this one:
Yes, I agree with Figma.... but, a job is a job. Both paid well. And they can also convert them into Figma down the road!
