Hi all,

It is time to update Adobe XD once again. And when you do, you will be in for a treat (when was Christmas, again?).  There are some exciting new features that broaden the scope of what you can achieve with a prototype.

Like many of you here, I wish I could just do all these wonderful prototypes in XD and it would somehow morph into an application without ever leaving your hands. Maybe one day, but for now, there’s still a lot to look forward to.

To download the XD update, use this link https://www.adobe.com/ca/products/xd.html

What's exciting in this update:

Import audio files for playback: Want a click sound when the user performs that action on a button? Want to play an audio snippet when the user chooses an album in a mobile app? You can do all that now, and more. For more info see Add Audio Playback to Prototypes

Multiple actions for a single trigger: In real life, there is never one action for a single trigger. Why should it be any different for your prototypes? Add multiple actions to a trigger to simulate real-life behavior like playing a sound when transitioning between artboards. For more info, see  Add Multiple Actions to a single trigger

Anchor links to scroll to areas on the artboard: Trust the Adobe XD team to make this so simple for all of us. Unlike other apps where you do the tedious work of creating anchors and then using them as bookmarks, all you have to do in XD is choose Scroll To as the Action in the prototype mode and choose the name of the Object in the Destination menu. For more info, see  Navigate to targeted areas of an artboard using Anchor Links

Allow reshare of documents: Sharing gets into the next gear by allowing you to set permissions for reshare of privately shared links. Users with reshare permissions will now be able to share documents with other people reducing dependency on the author. For more info, see Allow users to re-share design specs and prototypes

Resize text area to fit content: All that you have to do is double-click the resize handle at the bottom of the text box. It is as simple as that.

Implement a design system quickly using the Zeroheight plug-in
Upload assets and components from your design system to zeroheight and then use it to create and populate a design system documentation site using your design uploads from XD. For more info, see this blog post.

I am locking this post and request you to create separate topics for questions related to this update.

Thanks,

Harshika
