- Why does XD prototypes end up in the same file directory as design spec files in my CC Published folder? These are two different file types.
- Why does a folder say Library but when you enter it it says Libraries aren't here yet, but we're moving them soon - its been like that since XD was released!
- What does the folder shared with you actually mean? It's my CC account. No one else has access to it.
- Why does every .xd file get zipped automatically when uploaded to Files in CC? Where's the logic behind that? No other file type gets zipped.
Hi Jan - I'll try to help reduce the confusion by answering your questions.
1) the idea of the 'published' tab in the assets.adobe.com site is that you can see/manage all your published content there. Today you can publish Prototypes, Design Specs, and Dimension renditions (adobe Dimension is a 3d modeling tool).
2) it is true that we've had this interstitial landing page for quite a while. we are still working to bring Libraries to the newer assets experience and you should see that in the comi

2) it is true that we've had this interstitial landing page for quite a while. we are still working to bring Libraries to the newer assets experience and you should see that in the coming months. sorry for the delay!
3) shared with you is a list of things that have been shared with you. Today, other CC users can share CC files folders with you, as well as design specs, and prototypes. Libraries can also be shared with you and they will show up here when libraries come over to the new site. you can access this shared content here and/or leave the collaboration if you no longer want those items shared with you.
4) for the zip issue, there is a limitation when uploading XD files directly via the assets.adobe.com site. we are working to resolve this. in the meantime, if you have File sync turned on in the Creative Cloud desktop application, you can save as or drag XD files into the creative cloud files folder in Finder/Explorer and it will synchronize to CC files without converting to a zip.
I hope that helps.
thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd,
Thanks for the response.
You wrote: "The the idea of the 'published' tab in the assets.adobe.com site is that you can see/manage all your published content there." But I'm not able to manage all files as XD files gets converted to static image files when added to the cloud files folder in my local file explorer section. When I add XD files, PSD, IND, eps, SVG and Ai files to my CC area I do this cause I want to be able to access them from another machine and edit them, but with all my XD files converted to simple bitmap files they are of no use to me. This doesn't happen with any other native Adobe files I'm adding to the Files section.
Also I think its odd to have design specs files and prototype files in the same menu section as they serve two different purposes. They are indeed different file types in lack of a better word.
Good to know that you are working on the zip dilemma for XD files. At least now I know that there's a different outcome to that if I publish them in my local file browser within Windows, but they are not accessible as .xd files in CC in any case and that is sad.
Get ready! An upgraded Adobe Community experience is coming in January.
