Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Currently on Windows the screen recording is done using the shortcut Windows + G which is a inbuilt feature. Having said that we have also received a similar request  on XD UserVoice page, for the XD record button. Please vote for the request to add voice to the feature.

Regards

Rishabh

That can be some problem with  VGA. Did you try to update VGA driver?

Hi Phillip,

We are sorry to hear you are having trouble while recording in XD. In additon to what Ares has suggested, would you mind sharing the OS and XD version of your machine? I am able to record by pressing Windows + G and it working fine at my end on Windows10.

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

I am having the same issues. The record button in XD is telling me to press WIN +G - which leads me to a toolbar - but then the animation is already done and there is no sense anymore in recording. Why is the record button of XD no working properly so you can just press the record button and it will start recording without further shortkeys etc.?

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

WIN+G is still not working. I contacted another expert and he told me to press WIN+Alt+R and this is finally working. In case anyone else is having same issues. It's not recording immediately but it is recording. There is just one really ugly thing when it comes to the result of the recording - the very unnecessary top bar which is saying preview. Removing the top bar by cutting the video is extra work which doesn't have to be.
Is this the best recording result we can expect from XD for a windows desktop??

You can try Xbox Game Bar from Microsoft Store.
