I keep getting an error message aboutAdobe Air when I open an application (Traffic) that requires Adobe Air. The error message is: “Adobe AIR.framework” is damaged and can’t be opened.
This has begun since I updated to macOSX Catalina.
Why is this, and will an update be released to fix this?

I think a reply from another user having similar issues may help us here.
Can you use the following commands in the terminal and post the output?
cd /Library/Frameworks
ls -al
What we are looking for are symbolic links, this means the files we are trying to clear the quarrantine for are somewhere else. That second line should tell us where they are...

Mike

Hi Jamesey2001,
I just got a new Macbookpro 16" and I have the same problem with Air. I send you a printscreen from my terminal. Could you help me? I saw that something happens in my terminal but I still have the same problem and I can not start the application. Thank you for your help.
Best regards,

I followed your information exactly, and it works like a charm. Thank you. I appreciate your help and support.
I am just an average Joe with little experience and knowledge with how Apple computers work, but if I can do it; anyone can do it.

Thanks this fixed my shearwater dive computer app not working due to needing Adobe Air to open, as soon as I put in the command, machine pw, then second command was able to open the app and run the helper installer to load the plugins needed for the app to open and voila! you are awesome.

Hi Jamesey2001, I am having this same issue, and the above did not resolve it.
Here is the Terminal output when I run the commands you provided:

Me@admins-mbp Frameworks % sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine ./Adobe\ AIR.framework

Me@admins-mbp Frameworks % ls -l@ ./Adobe\ AIR.framework/

When I try to run the Adobe Air runtime I get the following:
/Library/Frameworks/Adobe\ AIR.framework/Versions/1.0/Adobe\ AIR ; exit;
Me@admins-mbp ~ % /Library/Frameworks/Adobe\ AIR.framework/Versions/1.0/Adobe\ AIR ; exit;

Any ideas?
