Hello everybody,

I am a new comer on the Mobile Development world but I'm a very experient Flex Developer. I'll be diving on the mobile world on the next few days and I have some concerns that I would like like to bring up on this discussion.

As a Flex developer I have no doubt that migrating my knowledges to the AIR Mobile will be much more smooth than if I try to go into the Android OS or iOS, although it's great and exciting as well. Also, the possibilty to have the same code working on several platforms such as iOS, Android and Blackberry is something really amazing and that makes me really love the AIR Platform. However according with my thoughts (hope I'm wrong), I believe it also has some drawbacks that I would like hear in further from you guys who are the real specialists.

1. Performance: No doubt that Adobe AIR has been improving performance and sensitiveness in each new version launched and honestly the new version 2.6 seemed me very smooth and sleek. However, how much is it performatic comparing to the native Android code. 20% less fast, 40%? How much is that? How it behaves in a application which performance is an issue such as a game application for instance?

2. API features: Android is an OS in constant evolution and that changes very offen. How adobe is planning to keep developers updated with the last features and functionality of the Android OS and which features are currently supported? What is the percentage in compatibility? What is not covered?

Please share your experience.

I really would love to hear from the Adobe Engineers

Thank you in advance for your time!

That's interesting Sir Dragon. Thanks for share the presentation.

So according to the graphics, we must to wait until AIR 2.7 to have a reasonable performance.

How about the features compatibility, any thoughts?

If you have a android you can download "tour de Flex" here:

https://market.android.com/details?id=air.adobe.flex.TourDeMobileFlex

And if you are interrest about Molehill on Mobile, juste go and see the video here:

http://www.bytearray.org/?p=3053

My opinion, the part that are not sufficiently advanced, is the Camera about Recording and play Video effectively without use UICamera.

PS: You can record and play sound with your mic.

StageWebView in the tour de flex seems to perform poorly. That's on a dual core Honeycomb tablet.
