Hi,

Every app l try and install brings up the error message: "Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe Air...."

I have installed a couple of apps successfully in the past but l don't seem to be able to anymore.

I have reinstalled Adobe AIR and also upgraded to the latest version but neither has helped. I'm using Vista.

Thanks.

Hi Justin,

What OS are you running?  Which apps are failing for you?  Would you mind posting the contents of the AIR installer logs so we can take a more detailed look at the failure point?  Here's instructions on how to find the log info:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403150.html#main_how_create_log_file_air_install

Thanks,

Chris

Oops, just reread your post and see that you're running Vista.  It would still help to know which apps are failing and the contents of the AIR installer log file.

Thanks,

Chris

Justin,

I get that error every time (on Windows 7) but I find that the AIR app can still run as long as I stay on AIR v1.5x.  What version of AIR do you have installed?

Are you running Vista 32-bit or 64-bit version?

I have a long thread going on regarding my AIR issues on Win 7 x64.

Thanks for your replies.

I am running Vista 32 bit and l can't install any apps at all. I just tried 'AccuWeather.com Stratus', 'iContacts' and 'noTe', none of those worked.

Here is the log: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5796502/Install.log

I have the following version of Air installed: 2.0.4.13090

I hope that helps to resolve this issue as it's very frustrating because l love using Adobe Air apps.

Hi Justin,

I took a look at the log you attached, but the only error I see appears to be related to a network issue during one attempt to download AIR 2.0.4.  I don't see any errors regarding the individual applications.  Would you be interested in doing a desktop sharing session with me so I can take a look at your system?  Please feel free to email me at ccampbel@adobe.com.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply.

I think l'll just leave it, it's a work computer so it doesn't really matter.

Cheers,

Justin

Hi Parth,

We haven't seen this issue with Application installer/bin installer on Ubuntu 10.10 yet, so I am guessing there is something missing in your environment. Could you provide us the following information:

1) Output of command "dpkg -l dpkg"

2) Are you using GNOME or KDE?

Thanks!
