Each time I run the Adobe Installer I get the same error.

An error occured while Installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.

I am the administrator and I uninstalled the older version of Air, verified that the folder is no longer in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe Air\ before running the 2.0 install.

Here is the install log files is this a known issue when installing on a 64 machine.

Hi Jman,

Is it possible to share your log files again, or send them to ccampbel@adobe.com?  I've tried accessing them from acrobat.com but got the message that they weren't available.

Thanks,

Chris

I am having the same issue.  However, I can't get a log file to generate through the installer's oddly implemented logging feature.

I also tried a command line install, this bombs out at tells me to check a non-existent log.

I enabled logging for MSI installs (which by the way, why oh why can't Adobe just do an MSI install for this product without the EXE installer) and I noticed that when I install it there's a log file for the MSI install of Adobe AIR 2.0.4 and then immediately afterward there is ANOTHER MSI log for an uninstall of AIR 2.0.4.

I guess step one would be to figure out why logging for the Adobe .exe installer isn't working.  In our environment the home folder is H:\.  I've created the .airinstall.log file there and no information ever populates with it.

Thanks for your help,

- Scott

Thanks Scott.  Are you also running Win 7 x64?  On my system the AIR installer log is at:

C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Local\Adobe\AIR\logs\Install.log

Do you at least have this directory (in your H: user's home folder)?  It's hidden, so you'll need to turn on show hidden files if you haven't already.

Chris, thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, this is a Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Install
