Hey Guys,

I am trying to downgrade to version 2.7.1 or earlier of Adobe Air (from 3.0) and I always get the error message:

"This version of Adobe Air cannot be installed because a more recent version is installed on your system"

After removing the app from Control Panel and deleting all relevant Adobe Air programs, I am still unable to install the 2.7.1 version. I attempted to remove all components of Air using

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/en-us

I got this from another Adobe's employee support post

and also

The Microsoft cleanup Utility --- http://download.youneedabudget.com/microsoft/msicuu2.exe

No matter what, i can never downgrade.

Any help please?

Please where did you get the previous adobe? I think I might have to download that until the bugs in version 3.1 are fixed.

You could get earlier versions of Adobe AIR from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/853/cpsid_85304.html

Please silent uninstall air to try it again.

Steps:

1. Download latest air from: http://get.adobe.com/air/

2. Run cmd as administrator

3. run command "AdobeAIRInstaller.exe -uninstall" to uninstall the air you installed

4. Check the control panel whether your air runtime is uninstalled

5. Install earlier AIR runtime
