Problem with menus on Mac

I have recently had a problem that a AIR program works fine in windows but has a problem with repeating menus on a mac. It seems each time the program is closed and run again it adds more menus, it also starts adding options that dont exist.

Above is the standard menu on Windows XP the images below are from the Mac

Now the second image shows the menu on the Mac does not even have the edit options for the hfawizard

Any ideas on what could be causing this or how to troubleshoot it would be great.
