Scratch files lokced

I cannot open Elements8. It says that the scratch files are locked. I placed them at an external harddisk. How can I unlock them ??

Hi Jan,

I assume you're talking about Photoshop Elements.  I'd like to suggest reposting this question on the Elements forum, but you might also try holding down ctrl+alt+shift (or cmd+alt+shift) when launching Elements to reset your preferences.  Depending on where you're starting, this might need to be done when you click the "Edit" button to start Elements.  This should allow the scratch disk location to be reset to the default.
