Community Beginner ,

Hello,

simply, after installing Animate, it crashes on Loading Document Templates. I have tried v23 and v24, tried all the steps for the app crashing, deleted old folders, reinstalled, reinstalled GPU driver.

Here's the crash report:

use the cc desktop app to uninstall, including preferences, restart your computer and then reinstall.

i don't know any general solution after confirming your computer hardware meets specs and reinstalling after removing preferences. other than 1 pretty extreme measure and 1 very extreme one.

I removed some software related to Governtment ID, Certificates, Android tools and USB drivers.

Currently I'm opening Animate succesfully.

that's a pretty specific solution.

if it continues to work, it indicates why any general solution requires extreme fixes.

Same for us here, since Friday Oct. 23 afternoon.

We first thought an antivirus update was to blame (SentinelOne Agent), which seemed to be confirmed by our first tests, but we're not so sure now, since the crash persists even when SentinelOne is deactivated or even completely removed.

The crashes are somehow random: it sometimes occurs at launch, sometimes when opening an Animate document or a new document, or sometimes only when compiling to SWF. And I've also experienced phases where I could use Animate normally, but it didn't last long obviously.

Sometimes, the box for crash feedback opens, sometimes not (most of the time).

We've also tried re-installing, switch versions, removing app prefs, etc.

We've been using Animate for years. Crashes can happen, but all in all, very rarely.

Friday Oct. 20, actually (in case the date matters in this issue).

We also tried removing the preferences.

It helps a little bit, but not that much (crash occurs when compiling, rather than right away when opening the document).

you can try another animate version, or more extreme measures.

More extreme like what?

We've already tested various Animate versions.

eg, the most extreme would require reformatting the os system drive.

Final word: SentinelOne was to blame, indeed.

The issue was resolved either by totally removing SentinelOne, or by deactivating it, or more conveniently: by excluding the whole path to Adobe applications from SentinelOne's scope.
