Hi everybody,
Im working on a big project in adobe animate 2023. Today I finished a scene and tried to export but the program hung on trying to move over to media encoder to finish (it does this sometimes). So i save my project and restart as i usually do.. When I restart this time, the .fla file says there was an error when trying to open it. When I go look at the file size it is only 32mb (it should be like 1200mb). I have versions of this file saved but my last finished scene was in that file and id love to recover it. I cant find any auto recovery files in the text file in the config folder. This is really bad. I would try to use winrar to repair the file but the fact its 32mb and it was 1200mb is very disheartening.
Is there anything I can do. this is a time sensitive project.
nothing you can do with a 32mb file that's much too small.
why didn't you save more frequently with increasing version number appended (as you appear to already know).
it doesn't happy frequently, but with any file (no matter what type/app/adobe or not), where you invest significant time, it's prudent to save frequently with increasing version number appended to the file name.
and while not frequent, this definitely does occur with animate.
save at least every 1/2hour of progress.
the larger your fla the more animate lags and the more likely it will crash. so yes, breaking your flas into more manageable sizes is wise.

im pretty new to animate. the way ive been doing things is using the same .fla file across multiple projects (all the projects re use alot of the same assets). i save different versions at key points (but not nearly frequently enough obviously).. should i be breaking my projects into different .fla files and import assets as i need them from a master file or something? maybe the large amounts of scenes in my file is causing things like this to become more likely?
