Adobe Animate importing illustrator gradient turns red

Hi, Ive setup a simple illustration in adobe illustrator 2023 with freeform gradient. When I import this into Adobe Animate 2023 the gradient turns Red? How do I stop this happening?

Have to say, this is still a really clunky animation tool. Is adobe Animate on the way out? Feels like it's so behind other Adobe Products

try dragging the ai illustration and dropping into animate.

Freeform gradients are not supported because Animate has no such feature.

Try either a linear or a radial gradient.

did you upgrade to 23.0.1 that was supposed to fix that bug.

Exactly the same problem here. Doesn't work importing or copy/pasting.

If it appears as red is because the gradient style is not supported. Animate can only import linear or radial gradients. You're going to have to recreate the gradient in Animate or import as bitmap.
