Adobe Animate not Testing or Publishing. Why?

New Here ,
Dec 06, 2016 Dec 06, 2016

I have tried deleting and recreating my adobe animate project multiple times. I've checked the codes and had others check them but everything seems in order, and still it doesn't work. I'm stuck on what to try next?

if your animate cannot publish a new project, uninstall animate cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

and then reinstall.

Hello,

we have the same problem here on two different PCs.

However after some testing, we could find out that this problems only occurs when using Google webfonts in the HTML5 Canvas.

@chams: can you confirm, that the problem also only appears in a HTML5 document with Google Webfonts?

Initially we had some trouble opening the documents at all, because something was messed up with the Google Fonts. Only after I deleted the webfont we used and added it new I could open the previously created documents.

Is there anything wrong with Google? Did they change anything so that the API is no longer working correctly with Animate?

Can anyone else confirm that this is a current bug or does it only occur with a few installions?

Thanks in advance.

Sabine

Just another thing: I just tried it with Adobe Typekit Fonts, and the error happens there as well.

Clicking on Publish (or using Ctrl+Enter) doesn't do anything: no error message, no log entry, nothing happens at all.

I've been working on a Mac and haven't used any outside fonts! There are a couple of web images that I got off of google though. Could that be the problem?

Thanks for the feedback.

We could solve our problems by uninstalling Animate and reinstalling it.

We did try this once before without success, but the essential part was to remove preferences as well, just as kglad suggested.

That solved the issue for us on both PCs.

We just wonder how this happened, cause there were no updates in Animate and from one evening to the next morning the function stopped working.

@chamS:Did you try a complete uninstall on your Mac as well?

Can you please try after deleting your preferences once.

For that, you just need to remove the below Preference folders after quitting Animate. (make sure to take a backup first!)

Win:

     C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Animate CC 2017\

     C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Animate\2017\

Mac:

     /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Animate CC 2017/

     /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Animate/2017/
