Adobe cs6 not exporting swf

I don't know what it is but I am working with someone in cs6. I need to use cs6 because of as2. They send me the files remotely via dropbox

The swf simply will not export, no matter how long I leave it. It just stays on the "Exporting movie" green loading bar for eternity. It's not even a big file, like 24 mbs.

we get weird symbols sometimes like inerpolation#x and "gylphs" my partner says they don't know what they are. They also work in a different language cs6, french apparently. 

I definitely need a way to export this project so any help is appreciated. I don't know why it gets stuck in export, I have to end task in order to shut it down

can the sender publish a swf using the same fla?

No they have trouble on their end initially so I think it could be them

first place to start is check for a corrupt fla

How would we be able to check for that?

The fla seemed fine, wasn't laggy or experiencing crashes.

did you try repairing it?

did you create a new fla

copy all the main timeline layers in the problematic fla and paste into the new fla and then test?

yup same problem in that one too with pasting it over. 

How would one repair an fla?

to repair:

rename the fla to a zip

open the zip in winrar > use the repair option in winrar

rename the repaired zip to a fla

open the repaired fla in animate and test.

sorry same thing 😕 Could it have anything to do with corrupted symbols possibly?

could be a lot of things.

you can try to pinpoint the problem by selectively copying and pasting layers into a new fla

I'll give that a try. I'm also open to more things I can troubleshoot. If I needed to where can I purchase a fresh new copy of cs6? My partner has had some issues like this with it before
