AME wont work on my computer

This started when I tried exporting something from adobe animate as a video, and it said that i needed to update AME to 8 or above, which i knew i already have done. Then i tried opening AME and i got the message (not from adobe but from my computer itself) "this app cant run on yout PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher." This is odd as I have never had a problem with either Animate or AME before this, it always exported perfectly fine. Please help

their versions have to stay in sync. 

using the cc desktop app:

1. uninstall animate and uninstall ame.

2. then install animate which should automatically install the matching ame version.
