Animate 2015.2 Very slow IDE

Participant ,

Hello, First I'd like to say that I've searched across the forum for similar questions but none of them worked out for me.

I work with multiple versions of animate : Flash CS6 (pretty rare I use it), Animate CC 2015.2, 2017 and 2019.

I have a lot of apps using the old certificate .p12 formely created with flash cs6 (2013). For that reason, I can't continue to update the apps using this old certificate except with Animate CC 2015.2 (it's because of a java reason)

Now the main reason why I post on the forum is that Animate CC suite for some reasons when I manipulate a fla can start to be very very very slow or even crash... A simple click on the interface, let's say : I want to access the property panel or the main tabs on top of the IDE, I want to see the as3 code on a specific frame/layer, I need to select a graphic object. It starts to be SLOW or take ages to execute my action.... I tried many things like:

1. reset the profile

2. uninstall animate

3. empty the %TEMP% folder

4. update my graphic cards driver to the latest version ( I have 2 graphic cards and 4 monitors )

5. Reboot computer

I'm on windows 10. Intel core i7, 16 Gb rams, every licenses are officials! My Kaspersky says I have no virus.

The worst thing is that when it starts doing this with a fla, I can't get rid of this behavior. The same fla will run perfectly on my laptop or a different animate version (2017, 2019...)

Could someone from adobe could contact me or someone from the community has some tips (please dont tell me it's the fla because it works fine on most recent animate). Because of that, I can't compile the adobe air for android fla using the old certificate...

Thank you

I know it's the very very very slow thing you want to have sorted out. But in that regard I can't help you because your version 2015.2 is a pretty outdated version, i fear you won't find much support. And generally it's likely a particular problem on your machine and Windows 10 and that makes it difficult to present you with a solution from here.

How is it, do you have another version of Animate running on that particular computer / Windows 10 ? You are speaking of different animate version (2017

This must be terrible. i admit I'm not into app development with Animate and only know of the .p12 certificate business from hearsay. So I don't know what slows your IDE so much down.

A gut feeling makes me wanting to know what this "it's because of a java reason" actually means. What kind of java reason?

And may it all be related to the old certificate .p12?

I'm not the one to tell, somebody with experience in these matters need to reply. maybe?

For old certificates, see that :

Packaging Android app fails -- Java 8

I see I can install 2017.2 but I don't find the direct download and in creative cloud you cannot install that version....

On the linked page you supplied it says

"In Animate CC, 1024 RSA certificates are supported up to the 2017.2 version. See Install previous versions of apps for more information on downloading earlier versions of Animate CC."

In my CC Desktop Client under Apps -> INSTALLED APPS -> Animate CC and Mobie ... -> OPEN -> Manage -> Other Version I could select CC (2017) 16.5.1. Wouldn't that be an alternative for you?

But on the computer where 2015.2 is so slow, is there another version running okay. I know you couldn't do the certificate thing, but just in general.

The only thing I can do is to help you finding the download link to another version up to 2017.2 (probably v16.2). There was this issue back in November 2017. I will leave a message there to ask if that has progressed to something helpful for you.

Hey Klaus,

First thanks for your help I really appreciate.

1. To answer your question, The multiple versions are installed on my computer. They run fine I dont have issues yet with those.

2. "In my CC Desktop Client under Apps -> INSTALLED APPS -> Animate CC and Mobie ... -> OPEN -> Manage -> Other Version I could select CC (2017) 16.5.1. Wouldn't that be an alternative for you?"

I already tried it and the version 16.5.1 is Animate CC 2017.5 and I can't use the 1024-RSA cert with this version

I also tried to find a direct link on prodesigntool website. For some reasons ADOBE fails to provide a direct link for this version which is very important for old publishers like me ! Anybody got a direct link for that version (2017.2) ?
