I installed latest version and in just wont open.
When sending report to Adobe I get this message:
"""Adobe could not find any solutions or workarounds for the recent error in Adobe Animate 2021.
Thank you for sending us the error report."""
Hi - Do you have fonts enabled in Creative Cloud desktop app? Can you please zip and share /Users/<userName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder for us to take a look?
Also, can you try renaming CoreSync folder insdie the Adobe folder and see if you are able to launch Animate without any issues?
I renamed the “CoreSync” folder as “CoreSync_new” but Animate did not launch.
Yes, I have fonts enabled in Creative Cloud desktop app. How do I send you the zip as it is 1.15 GB.
Thanks for your response. Could you please share the file using any file sharing utility say WeTransfer etc and share the link with me?
Also can you try renaming Users/<userName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder to say Adobe_backup and launch Animate and see if that helps?
Hi Paul - Thanks much for sharing the files. Could you please confirm once whether you have Courier Condensed Bold.ttf font installed on your system? If yes, can you remove and see if that helps in this case?
I don´t have that font in my system.
Thanks for sharing the information so far, they are really helpful investigating this issue. We have identified that this is happening due to one or more corrupted fonts present in the machine. Loading of such fonts during application startup leading to the crash. We are working on a fix for this and will let you know as soon as there is an update on this.
By the way, in the old day I didn´t have to be wainting for fonts to download from Adobe. I used to simply have the fonts that came with Flash/Animate and some others in my computer and that was it.
Now, aside from this specific issue that you are mentioning, each time I work with a font I have to wait for the font to "download" from Adobe.
I do believe things were easier a while ago.
J'ai exactement le même problème...
I have this exact same issue. I've tried renaming "Users/<userName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder to say Adobe_backup and launch Animate", and I'm still receiving that same error message without it opening.
Same issue. Just won't open.
Hi - Do you have Courier Condensed Bold.ttf font installed on your system? If yes, could you please remove the same and see if that helps while we are investigating this?
Same issue for me. Just installed Catalina and have lost the ability to run Animate. I also do not have the suspect Courier font installed on my sytem. It crahses when creating the workspace.
Here is the error report, lengthy as it is:
Would you please put a shorter reply so other members can be able to see what´s next without the need of scrolling all over your code?
It would be very much appreciated.
Same here 😕
Same here! Would like to know this is going to be fixed.
I am not liking this auto install and now I have no options for the old version? I updated everything on my Mac.
I just updated my MacOS from High Sierra to Catalina 10.15.7, and Adobe Animate won't run anymore. Looking at the first post in this thread, this has been a problem for a month now. Is this not a priority for Adobe? What's going on here? Is there at least a workaround that anyone has found?
Upon further inspection, it appears that luckily, Create Cloud allows me to install the older Animate version - v20.5.1, which runs fine under Catalina. At least that allows me to do my work until Adobe fixes this issue, whenever they get around to it.
Thank you I was tearing my hair out over here. I even went so far as to completelly uninstall all Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, etc etc) and the Creative Cloud application itself, as well as to delete all Adobe related files I could find in ~/Library/, but still had the same problem after reinstalling the Creative Cloud applications with Animate still crashing on start. But after reading your comment here I went and installed version 20.5.1 of Animate instead of version 21.0.
Hoping that Adobe will fix this issue, but for now at least I have version 20.5.1.
Don´t you dare to update to Mac OS Big Sur because you wont be able to use any Animate version...
