Thanks Nick. I will try that but I'm pretty sure there is a way to duplicate without using any plug ins. I used to do it on a TV series I worked on but I've forgotten how! I will try your powertool though!

You can just duplicate the symbols by right-clicking on the instances.

But you will have to do it for all nested ones manually as well.

Thanks Nick. No, I'm looking to duplicate the entire actions of one character and then repaint it. A dancing army. I tried your app but it didn't work properly. It just copied everything in the file and ignored the rigging. When I dropped the new symbol onto the stage it was just aa stack of symbols.

I see. How is it rigged?

There may be a bug related to Layer Parenting, which we will investigate. Thank you for reporting that!

It's rigged like a normal rig. No plug ins. It's a simple little rig.

When you say 'rig' do you mean Parented Layers or Armature/Bones, or just a bunch of symbols each one on its layer and tweened?

In any case - to duplicate recursively, you need to have all your animation nested inside a container and duplicate that container from a Library selection.

Sadly, I see that with the latest version of AA 22.0.6 and the changes they did to PL, there are some problems with the command.

[Addition 21 Jun 2022] After further investigation, our conclusion is that this is not an issue with our command, but rather a newly introduced bug in Animate with Parented Layers.

The layers aren't parented. The rig is made of armature/bones all inside one comp. I suppoose I should learn more about the parenting idea! I copied my character comp but when I dragged it onto the stage the smbols were all stacked and not in the right place.
