Animate for ipad

So I used animate cc on my MacBook Air to animate. It died and the guy at the Apple Store told me it was cause I was doing too much with my animation and film stuff and talked me into buying an iPad instead and said I could use all the same soft wear on it and it's be better than the air I bought 2 years ago. (The guy who sold me the air said it would work with what I needed to do which is shorts gifs and the occasional music video as I didn't have the money for a pro) I've now found out I can't download animate cc on this iPad.

My question is: what programs do people use to animate on iPads and is it even worth it or should I return this and pay for my MacBook to be fixed. I like drawing directly on the screen that is nice, idk how I feel about learning an entirely different softwear though because teaching myself the softwear was harder than teaching myself to animate lol.

Hi.

I use Animate in a MacBook Air M1 and no problem so far.

Regarding the iPad, unfortunately there's no plan from Adobe's part as far as I know of releasing Animate to the device.

But if you ask me for alternatives on iPad, I would choose Procreate, Procreate Dreams or Clip Studio Paint.

Regards,

JC

Hard to tell.

I think it's more natural do draw on an iPad but using a desktop OS is much more versatile.

Maybe some comparison videos will help. For example:

I didn't watch any of them though.

For animation on iPads, many people use apps like Procreate, Animation Desk, or FlipaClip. These apps offer robust features for drawing and animating directly on the screen. While it may take some time to adjust to a new software, many find the transition worthwhile due to the convenience of drawing directly on the tablet.

Additionally, you might want to consider using InShot Pro for iPad. It's not specifically an animation app, but it offers powerful editing tools that could complement your animation workflow. You can create short videos, gifs, and music videos with ease. It's worth exploring as an alternative if you enjoy drawing directly on the screen.

I used Flipaclip on my iPad Air 2, so i was lacking the Apple Pencil function, but I have used Adobe Animate since 2020, so I don't have a use for Flipaclip on my ipad anymore.
