Animate irresponsive and not responding to clicks

I open animate and  it is stuck at the top of my screen, I can't maximise the window, and hen i click the window, a sound plays---- Once, i got the window to expand but it didnt do anything when i clicked---It didnt say that Adoe animate is not responding on the top of the window.

Funny thing, It spontaneously worked the day after I posted this comment, but now it started again, so ill try that thank you.

p.s. make sure you're saving frequently and using increasing version numbers appended to your file name.  periodically close and reopen the latest version to confirm it's not corrupt.

So, what signs should i look out for for corruption and can i use older animate files in newer versions?
