Automatically open Object Tab of Properties Panel

Hi!

When I click on a keyframe it automatically opens the "Frame" tab of the properties panel. 

Is there a way to automatically open the "Object" tab of the properties panel? 

Or is there a way to set up a keyboard shortcut to open the "Object" tab?

no.

(you shouldn't even be able to select the object panel unless an object exists.)

if there is an object you could create a shortcut for selecting it and that should select the object tab of the properties panel.  (or just use ctrl-a)
