there's this big grey box that progressively gets bigger the more i zoom in, and sometimes some assets just disappear or maybe even the whole screen during playbacks on adobe animate, what do i do

create a new fla

copy the main timelne layers from the old fla with the gray object to the new fla

any problem in the new fla?

can you select it if all layers are unlocked?

I didn't even know you could lock them, thanks! But nah, doesn't fix the
issue.
