Hi just learning animate... is there a way to draw symmetry with the brush tool, like in photoshop?
Hi.
There isn't a built-in feature/tool to achieve this result.
But you can do it manually by placing two mirrored symbol instances side by side so when you draw in one of them the other one will be updated with the same drawing but inverted horizontally or vertically.
You can also use a mask inside of the instances if you don't want overflow.

Thanks JC, that's a good workaround I hadn't considered.

How would one actually place two mirrored symbol instances side by side?

Whats the reason for not having brush symmetry available?

Yeah, it's such a simple and needed tool.

I find it ridiculous that Animate costs so much and we don't have a simple symmetry tool. Animate is one of the simplest and best animation programs for me and yet we miss so many features that could elevate it to the next level.
