Hello,

Whenever I open Animate and try to open the hands-on tutorials I get this error saying it is not available at this moment.

I have already updated, reinstalled and tried another version but it does not work.

@Speciman Can you try the following & check again -

  1. Close Animate
  2. Go to folder - "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Animate 2021\en_US\Configuration\".
  3. Delete the "Coachmark" directory.
  4. Reopen Animate & check Help>Hands-on Tutorial.

There will be only 6 tutorials initially and it takes a while to download other tutorials. Hence, make sure you're connected to the internet. Let me know how it goes.

for which one?  all of them?

if all AND you're opening animate>clicking help>hands-on tutorial>clicking one of the listed tutorials, reset your preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/using/set-preferences.html

I have done as you instructed and it didn't solve the problem. I was able to open pig run from Help>Hands-on tutorial but not for example Rotating on the Earth. Also reset to default all that was possible in preferences.

I'm kinda clueless at this moment

Hello Sukhesh,

As of now I have installed version 21.0.1 build 37179.

Yesterday I tried kglad's suggestion which did not work. Today I started Animate to check on the other hands-on tutorials and all of the sudden I am actually able to open them

Either it had to take some time before changes were made or something else has changed up the situation, now I will try those other tutorials which I'm asked to make as homework.

I have attached two screenshots:

#1 represents my starting screen and the tutorials I actually were able to perform

#2 On starting screen, the remaining hands-on tutorials I could not open and on which I received the errors.

@Speciman Good to know it's working.

As I mentioned earlier, you will be able to start only 6 tutorials in the first launch after installing Animate (i.e. Pig Run, Farmer Walkcycle, Amusement Park, Icon Animation, Animating a doll & windmill).

The rest of the tutorials would take some time to download & load depending on your internet speed.

Now that you're able to start some of those, I am sure you'll be able to launch all of them that are listed in Animate.

You can even consider updating your Animate back to 21.0.6 - you will not face this issue again.

Enjoy the tutorials 🙂

Thanks, Sukhesh.

Hi all,

Just jumping on the back of this thread as it's sort of relevant. I'm a teacher in Brisbane, Australia, and I had intended my students to complete the hands on tutorials that I see listed in my animation program. When the students install animation, they only have 6 hands on tutorials listed.

How can they access the other tutorials please? There seems to be an option to import tutorials (Help>Hands-on Tutorial>|Import tutorial), but I can't find any way to download the missing tutorials so my students could theoretically import these tutes. I feel like I'm losing my mind here. Why are the other tutorials showing up for my students?

Help please! I'm going crazy here and want to cry.

there are only 6 tutorials available upon animate installation.  the remainder take time to download, if downloads are allowed.

Thanks for the quick response - I appreciate it. Two follow up questions:

* How long does it take for the remaining tutorials to download, and how do we make this happen? Where do we download tutorials from? Or does it happen in the background somehow?

* How do I find out please if downloads are actually allowed?

Thank you!

it happens in the background while animate is open.

rate of download is slow (to prevent using all your bandwidth), but i can't be more exact.
