Can't scrub through audio, animate cc

I used to be able to scrub through the audio of an animation until I had to reinstall it.

Since then, every time I try to I am met with silence. Im able to play audio perfectly fine from the beginning, but only the beginning. If I try to start it from any other frame than 1, it won't play.

assign the sound's sync property to stream.  (that works the same now as in the old days of flash.)

Hello. I hear audio when I scrub the timeline with my mouse, but not when I use the comma and period keystrokes to move my playhead. How does one scrub audio using keystrokes? Thanks.

Hi, kglad. Thanks for responding. I've no trouble hearing sound when I scrub my audio layer using a mouse. But obviously that's not a great way to find specific dialogue syllables. I've spent a lifetime as a motion picture editor and have always worked to minimize mouse usage in favor of keyboard commands. I've never come across any video or audio editing software that doesn't allow scrubbing a timeline from my keyboard while also monitoring sound. It seems like such a rudimentary and intuitive function I'm astonished I even have to ask the question. But Animate has me stymied. I keep thinking there has to be a way to scrub audio from the keyboard, but damned if I can figure out how. Appreciate your help.

because animate is not a video/audio editor, your expectations may be too high.

those criticisms would be more apt if applied to premiere pro or audition.
