Center objects in frame

Hiya, I've just finished an animation and exported it and realised that my animation isn't centered!!! There are a lot of frames and layeres in the animation so it would take ages to center the objects manually in each individual frame. Surely there must be another way?

Hi mate,

Here are several options:

1. Use the Camera to reframe your animation. (This would be the easiest of all methods, if it works. The camera seems to have problems of its own, however, as is documented in many threads in this forum. Don't be surprised if it does not work as expected, at least in the first one or two frames.)

2. Use Edit Multiple Frames and move / scale your content with the Free Transform tool.

3. Nest all your animation inside a Graphic Symbol* which is set to Play Once. Then you can treat the whole animation as one object and adjust its size and position in relation to the Stage with ease. (This is the best option and this is how you should have done it from the very beginning.)

* You can nest the animation either by creating a new symbol and pasting all layers / frames in it or my using Timeline Block To Symbol.

How is it even possible to create an animation and not realize it's not centered, since the stage and the area around the stage are different colors?

Here's another option. Say you wanted to move the whole animation over to the left by 100 pixels. You can do that by moving your Stage to the right. Go to the Properties panel, to the Document Settings section. Click the More settings button. In the Document Settings dialog, click the link to unlock where the stage width and height are constrained. Increase the Stage size by 100 pixels. In the Anchor section, click the middle left anchor to keep your content anchored to the left side. Click OK. Now your stage has 100 pixels more on the right side. Click More settings in the Properties panel again. Now in the Document Settings dialog, change the Stage size W back to its original width. In Anchor, this time click the middle right anchor. Click OK. Your Stage is back to its original size, but it's scooted over to the right by 100 pixels. So, your content now appears to be 100 pixels to the left.
