Export in Animate with Windows 10

Hi guys,

I want to export my file in adobe animate, but as a windows 10 user it seems I can't.

I'm supposed to download Quicktime - but there is nor current Quicktime version for windows 10. Also, I thought Quicktime is outdated??

So - how can I export?

Media Encoder has a presets panel. Look in the list for what you intend to send the video to. If it's Vimeo or YouTube for example, there are presets for those. There's a huge drop down menu in the preset column of the Queue panel.

It's a good question about Media Encoder and subscription. If you end up just subscribing to Animate, I'm not sure whether you get the later versions of Media Encoder. You would get access to Flash Pro CS6, and that came with an earlier version of Media Encoder that would do what you need anyway.

If you are being paid for the work you do you only have to find $50 per month of that income to get the full CC subscription. It is sometimes handy to have access to Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and so on.

Disclaimer: I'm Adobe Community Professional, as well as being MVP. I personally don't have to pay the $50. But I'm pretty sure I would.

Well, at least in my plan when I install Animate CC the Adobe Creative Cloud app automatically installs Adobe Media Encoder - and I think it happens to After Effects and Premiere too.

I think it shouldn't be different because there's no point for animators to use Animate CC and not be able to export their works as videos.

Called Adobe.

Apparently, Media Encoder needs no seperate license. I will now try to save my file.

    The one that shows up when the Windows key is pressed.

    My OS doesn't have the QuickTime player installed. Only the codecs. The K-Lite Mega Codec Pack uses Media Player Classic as the media player for its codec pack.

    Nice. Thank you for clarifying.

    It's because I always install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack on my Windows and so I wasn't even remembering it installs QuickTime codec along with many others.

    I just search for "quicktime" on the start menu before answering and as the search did not return any QuickTime reference I assumed Adobe Media Encoder was taking care of everything as Apple itself is not supporting QuickTime on Windows.

    The Windows 10 I have doesn't have a Start menu. If I ask Cortana for quicktime, QuickTime Player does show up. It is possible that a third party tool could add QuickTime and codecs, without also adding QuickTime Player.

    I think around the time Microsoft dropped support for XP Apple said they wouldn't be updating QuickTime for Windows. But the existing one works fine in Windows 10:

    Download QuickTime 7.7.9 for Windows

    To export from Animate you don't need to use the browser plugin, and you don't need to run QuickTime Player, so lack of updates for those shouldn't affect you.

    It is safe though to use QuickTime Player to look at the exported MOV, or use applications like VLC.

    You need to have Adobe Media Encoder installed. When you export you movie (File > Export > Export video...), Animate CC will call Media Encoder automatically.

    I use Windows 10 too and I export videos without problems.

    You only need Adobe Media Encoder if you want the video to become something other than MOV (which I know you sometimes will). Premiere, After Effects, YouTube, Vimeo, can all take the MOV file.

    QuickTime is needed to make the MOV that would then be given to those programs, or sent to Adobe Media Encoder. Just having AME wouldn't be enough to export video.
