Filling with the bucket tool

Community Beginner ,
May 17, 2017 May 17, 2017

I've drawn a shape, and filled it in with the bucket tool. But I wanted to do shading and so I drew a line with the pencil through the shape and tried to fill that space in with the bucket tool, but it fills in the entire shape, not just the little space where I want my shading to be.

What do I do now?

You must fully bisect the lines to cut the vector and change the cut area's color. Also for the record you can change the brush tool's input to Draw on Selected instead and if you select the area then draw it will only draw on what's selected which makes it a bit easier in my opinion to get more detailed shadows.
