Hi

Since yesterday my Flash CS6 program is crashing almost every time I try to open any .fla file.
Flash hangs, I get an Event ID 1002 in the system log and have to terminate the program.
I can open my .as files without problems.

I'm on a Win 10 64bit PC.

Can anyone help me to find a solution for this?

Thanks a lot!

It is for certain my Wacom driver that kills Flash.

Submitting a support request on this issue to Wacom resulted in a recommendation to make a tedious clean install of the (same) driver and resetting preferences for Flash. But I don't really believe it will solve the problem, and trying the method will erase all my many settings for the tablet, which I spend a long time making just right.

Luckily I'm not using both the Wacom and Flash at the same time, so I've concluded that the most efficient way

I have now tried this method: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

But it did not work...

After restarting the computer I can open the first .fla, but then every following attempts to open .flas makes Flash hang with the 1002 error in the system logfile.

I have an old laptop also with Win 10, which does not give me this problem, but I MUST get my main computer working as well.

Anyone?? Please!

Have you tried a uninstall and a reinstall? Be sure to restart your computer when you reinstall.

Thanks for taking an interest
Yes - when you use the cleaner tool mentioned above, that is what happens.

First removing the program normally through the control panel. Then restart and make the total cleanup of CS6 with Adobes cleaner tool, which removes all program settings. Then restart and install again.

Hi shasimo,

It looks like your file has gone corrupt. If you have another computer, can you try installing Flash on it and see if the file opens. If you continue to face this issue, it is probably because your file has gotten corrupt for some reason.

There are a few links to recover corrupt files but have not tested them myself

Hi Preran

No, they are not corrupted because it happens no matter which .fla file I try to open.

I have an old laptop also with Win 10, which does not give me this problem - I can open all the files on that.

I might have a small idea about something now:
I left the PC for a couple of hours, and when I returned I could  see an event 1000 caused by my relatively new Wacom tablet (Wacom_Tablet.exe, version: 6.3.23.1). As the Wacom tablet is the only resent change to my configuration, I tried to start Flash again (while the Wacom was not running), and I could actually open 3 fla files!
So it seems like something does not work with the Wacom driver, that it can corrupt my fla files? Strange if it is the case, but I will try to pursue the matter

Luckily I'm not using both the Wacom and Flash at the same time, so I've concluded that the most efficient way to deal with this on a daily basis (for me), is to simply stop the Wacom driver in the Taskmanager, while I'm using Flash CS6.
That works, but it will probably also prevent me from using the tablet as much as I had planned.
