Gradient Transparency Mask

Hey guys!

Is it still possible to use a mask with a transparency gradient? When publishing for Flash, this could be done with a workaround where you would cache the mask with the gradient as a bitmap. I have not found a way to do this when publishing for HTML5 Canvas.

How can you achieve a mask with smooth edges? Help highly appreciated!

I hadn't heard of the cache bitmap approach. As far as I knew transparent masks would work if you set the mask using AS3.
