I noticed in later versions of Adobe Animate that you can now assign an instance name to a Graphic Symbol from the properties panel even though Graphic Symbols still do not support being controlled by ActionScript code. (See Screenshots taken from different versions of Adobe Animate)
So what other purpose is there in being able to give a Graphic Symbol an instance name?
Only Movieclip and Button Symbols can actually make of instance names it seems, at least code-wise, so I can't see why Graphic Symbols would now be given this option.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!
Hi.
The Animate team introduced this possibility for Graphic instances but it only actually works in the HTML5 Canvas document.
So this is a bug and should be fixed.
