Group not appearing on timeline

When I drill down into a symbol that is comprised of a group, the timeline is grayed out. I can't see any of the keyframes. If I double click on the wheel image, then the timeline for the wheel displays. All the other elements are drawing objects and their timelines don't display. Can anyone help me understand why this is occuring and how I can view the keyframes for each of the drawing objects that have been grouped?

i'm not sure what you're doing but drawing objects don't have a timeline, so if you double click one (to drill down?) you see a grayed-out parent timeline.
