Help I can't paste shapes

Hi

I have Adobe Flash CS5 and just learning system.  I have tried to copy shape and paste, however, I can copy (either by menu, edit copy, or by right click copy and ctrl C, but in all these ways whenever I try to paste the copy I have no paste.  Can anybody help?  This is a full Adobe licenced programme.

Make sure the layer(s) you are trying to paste into are not locked.

Thanks Ned, I checked that the lock is not on layer.  I have gotten round the problem by using edit, duplicate, but still have no paste?  It appears Adobe do not want to know, last time I tried their customer service I hung up after listening to their music for 45mins.  I don't know where else to try.

Did you closed flash application and tried once?

I have closed Flash and re-opened it.  I am trying the following stages.

1. Select shape
2. Cntrl+C
3. Cntrl+V

If I,

1. Select Shape
2. Edit
3. Copy
4. Paste (paste commend is not selected so I can't paste the copied shape)

Thank you to all that try to help, it is more than Adobe has done though.

Can you show a fullscreenshot of when you are trying to implement the paste command, and try not to have anything blocked, like the timeline or stage?

Ned Hi, I thinkj I might have just got the answer from your question.  For my studies I have an e-book on lock lizard viewer.  The course documents have been locked on lock lizard so we cannot print and when I tried to screen print the page for code, was was not able to paste the screen shot.  I have been blaming Adobe but it maybe that the lock lizard viewer has disabled my paste function somehow.  I will need to speak to the course provider on this?  Do you have any thoughts on this?

Hi Ned.

Just to confirm I did a few tests on my theory and I was right the locklizard viewer for the Flash courses work I am doing has disabled the paste function,  Hows that for top secret documents.
