how to create looping marquee lights animation ?

Are there any Animate or Flash tutorials on creating a vintage theater marquee effect where the lights flow continuosly along a path?  Or it could be any looping animation of data flow, water droplets, products on a conveyor belt, or the like.

This would require a lengthy post to explain in text format but in addition to Nicks video, you'll want to take advantage of nesting animations inside of symbols. Ultimately it comes down to the image and the assets and how they are presented as that will dictate the techniques used for the animation.
