I CANNOT HEAR AUDIO

Community Beginner ,
Jan 25, 2018 Jan 25, 2018

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to solve this issue. I have set the audio type to stream, yet I cannot hear it when scrubbing through the timeline. When I test the .SWF movie using CTRL+ENTER, it won't play. I have also tried reinstalling Animate but it still won't work. PLEASE HELP MEEEE

Both should work, but if you are going to scrub the timeline a lot, WAV is much better. MP3 can break up when scrubbing the timeline.

Check what settings you've used for the audio. It needs to be 16 bit, 44.1 kHz ideally. If it's 24 or 32 bit audio, it could well fail.

Are you able to post the FLA online somewhere, so we can try it?

no, I do not think it is anything with the FLA and/or SWF file, but more with Animate itsself. I probably clicked on something without noticing (because I do that alot) and it messed soemething up. I also tried making another FLA file and importing audio--same issue.

Check if you have set the Audio property as event. If so, change it to "Stream"

I have set it to stream. Could it be that I imported it as a .MP3 file instead of a .WAV file??

Have you checked Control > Mute Sounds (Ctrl + Alt + M / Cmd + Alt + M)?

Although it shouldn't affect the movie test, I think it's worth trying.

Ok peeps i found a fix for this a while back when google chrome was having the same problem. Turns out the program's audio was muted for some reason in the audio mixer. I literally fell off the couch when i figured out the problem.
