I need help with the brush tool and camera tool.

Hope I'm posting this in the right spot.
I got the trial of Animate CC recently and so far I love it, I can animate much quicker with it and the brush tool is smoother than the one in Macromedia Flash 8.
I also love the new camera tool, I have a couple of issues though..
I can't add any drawings or objects to the camera layer! It may not seem like a huge issue to many, but when I make any fully animated episodes, I like to put a subtitles bar on the camera layer, like how I would with Vcam in the older flash. I don't want to use any other programs like after effects and premiere pro to add it in, I'd like to find a way to do it in animate cc.
As for the brush tool... it's fine most of the time, but other times, it gets a bit jagged or wobbly, I have the smoothness set to 45, I never use pressure sensitivity, and I use a Huion H610 pro tablet. I've tried using pressure sensitivity, but it just does the same thing.

So if anyone can tell me how to make the brush tool smoother, and how to add my subtitles bar onto the camera layer in animate cc, that'd be awesome.

    There's a way to do it without code. It's based on a similar question that was posted here where the user wanted to add a border to the screen Re: Make a layer that won't be affected by camera? Instead of a border, you'll add your black bar and text. Make your black bar. Convert it to a symbol (it can be either a Graphic or a MovieClip). Inside that symbol add a layer for your text. Go back to the main Timeline, right-click, and Create a Motion Tween. Add your camera, create a Motion Tween for the Camera, and add your motion to it. Then copy the motion on the Camera Motion Tween and paste it onto the black bar and text Motion Tween. What that does is make your black bar and text follow the same motion as the camera which keeps it at the same size and in the same position.

    How do I copy the motions? I made the black bar frame and converted it into a movie clip, camera was added in, then I added the camera tween, and copied the last frame from the camera layer and tried pasting it onto the black bar layer, yet nothing happened..
    I tried both the classic tween and the motion tween.

    The camera is really just a container for all of the stage content, and so everything moves at the same time. If you want something to be static you would need to use code.

    So, imagine that your subtitles are played out in a MovieClip that has its own timeline, revealing the subtitles in the correct timing, and that MovieClip's name is set to be "subtitles" in the Properties panel, you could use this code:

    stage.addChild(subtitles);

    If you're doing HTML5 Canvas and not AS3, that may need to become:

    stage.addChild(this["subtitles"]);

    About the brush, a recent update made the smoothing part of the process be done as a separate task, which frees up more time for you to do a smooth line. That technique has got a problem currently, where it can get locked up. The problem is fixed but isn't released yet.

    In other words, make sure you're up to date, and the brush smoothing should continue to improve.

    Maybe I'm missing something but why don't you just add a layer above everything else? Won't the subtitles then follow anything the camera moves as well? Why do you need it to be attached to the camera?

    You can't drag a layer higher than the camera layer, and any layers below that will move based on the camera layer. The code I gave will make the subtitles movieclip be static even if all other layers are controlled by the camera.
