I need to create a simple animated svg icon for a website. Working directly with the xml code embedded in an svg file is proving difficult except for the most basic of animation so I was hoping Animate CC would include an option. The snap.svg plug has been retracted by Adobe (https://www.adobeexchange.com/creativecloud.details.12329.html#.V0Mi95MrIUE). Is there any other option. Seems unbelievable that Adobe do not have this covered in any of their apps.

I can't really answer this. The whole area is a mystery to me too.
I've got in my AnimateCC (MacOS Mojave) under Window/Extensions and thing called SVG Animation.
I'm not sure whether I've installed that from Adobe Exchange some time in the past or it is there by default. (Animate version 19.0 (Build 326). However I've tried it out and it exported a test1.svg from a tiny test1.fla (AS3 format). It's a 3KB svg-file with some valid looking svg-xml code in it. But when I open it in a browser (Firefox, Chrome and Safari) I see just white empty space. Normally static svg's can be opened with modern browsers and show.
If somebody is more knowledgeable about this all I would be grateful for some clarity.
There's also an Extension called Animated SVG Exporter on Adobe Exchange. April 10, 2017 - quite old - looks dodgy to me.

Thanks Klaus, I'm using v19.1 of animate, under window > extensions all I have listed is 'colour themes'. In my case I managed to hand code the animation I needed but it would have been a lot easier to create using a timeline with visual feedback, timing and easing is not easy when working directly with the code.
