Hello,
I've seen this question be asked before, however no resolution was given and was left inactive for quite some time, or the answer did not apply to my set up, and this has been an issue ever since I got Adobe Animate a couple of months back.
Basically, there's this very annoying dotted line before it makes the stroke, followed by a 1 to 2 second lag, and thus makes drawing much slower than it has to be. I've provided a picture of it below:
This only occurs with the Paint Brush Tool, and I've tried playing around with the Properties to no solution. It is not the cause of my tablet, as the problem still happens with the trackpad on my laptop. In which case, I'm using a MacBook Pro, and have Adobe Animate updated to the latest version.
Thank you in advance.
Yeah it's not a bug, that's just how the Paint Brush tool currently works: Using Paint Brush in Animate CC

Try using the Brush tool instead of the Paint Brush tool.

I would, however I can't seem to be able to change the style of the Brush Tool, since I prefer to use the chalk brushes for my animations. It seems that feature is only available with the Paint Brush Tool, unless there was some way for it to be available on the Brush Tool that I've been unaware of.

Hi there! I got the same problem, but on multiple computers so i think at the moment it's just a limitation of the tool not a bug. For me, when i clean up a character or do a few lines with the vector brush tool in general, Animate CC starts lagging quite a bit especially when moving around the canvas. Anyone else having this problem? I tried it on two computers as well with the same result...
I posted a gif on Twitter, that demonstrates the issue: Joel Mayer on Twitter: "@animatecc I've made sure to update the driver (GeF 580) and updated Animate...

It's disorienting, and your response gives no resolve because it works this way for no reason other than " thats just the way it is " the brush tool worked solidly before you did this...
