My animations are perfect quality when viewed as flash in a web browser but when I export them via air to make a desktop, android or ipad file their is a loss of image quality , little bit blurry , am I doing something wrong or is this just a fact of life when using air to make these applications , thanks dave

Hi.

Are there bitmaps in your animations?

Because if you scale up your animations, all bitmaps displayed with a transformed size bigger than their ogiinal size will look blurry or pixelated.

For example:

You imported a bitmap that is 200 x 200 px. But your animation has been scaled up to 200%. So now your bitmap has a transformed size of 400 x 400 px.

It you'll make the bitmap look blurry or pixelated depending on your settings.

- One way to avoid it is to provide bitmaps with bigger sizes and them scale them down in the FLA.

In mobile devices chances are that your animations will be scaled up because almost devices these days have high resolution screens with a pixel density bigger than 1.

- Another way would be to code your app to load assets dynamically. This is indeed the most efficient way but it's also way harder to implement.

Please let us know what you think.

JC

Hi.

If you are only using vector shapes there shouldn't be any quality loss when exporting for web, desktop or mobile.

Can you provide your FLA or at least part of it so we can investigate?
