Mouse cursor is too big

Community Beginner ,
Jul 06, 2025 Jul 06, 2025

I have a Windows 11 and a Wacom Cintiq drawing pad. I mainly use Adobe Animate. For some reason, whenever I move my cursor into the drawing area and the timeline, my mouse gets extremely large. This is also the case when I'm using things like the brush tool, which gets annoying since the size of my cursor doesn't match the size of what I am trying to draw. I had previously used a Macbook with the same Cintiq drawing pad and it didn't have this issue.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Ok I actually found the solution while playing around with the display settings. I had to make the resolution of my computer match up with the resolution of the drawing pad. The computer was originally at 3200 x 2000 and the pad is at 1920 x 1080. I changed the computer to 1920 x 1200. I also needed to make the scaling on my drawing pad 150%. I then reset my computer and it worked.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Which screen? The computer or the drawing pad? I've been experimenting a lot with the scaling but nothing's worked too well.

Set both (all) screens to 100%.

Try using WinTab istead of Windows Ink or vice versa.

Play with all OS settings related to the cursor.

What is WinTab and Windows Ink? And how do I check which one to download?

Sorry, I assumed you knew - these are different APIs for pen pressure which drawing devices use.

You can switch between them via Animate's Preferences:

There is also usually a checkbox in the tablet driver which can be set specifically for one program or another.

With my Wacoms I prefer to use WinTab.

It doesn't look like it fixed the problem. I noticed that this problem also actually happens in Premiere Pro too, not just Animate.
