Need Help with Smooth Animation Previews

New Here ,
Apr 15, 2024 Apr 15, 2024

Hello! I'm trying to get the preview of my animation to display in real-time. However, after searching for information on the topic, it seems that achieving a smooth preview is not possible. Here's what I've tried so far without success:

  • Using the "Fast" preview mode
  • Keeping only the layer I need to animate visible
  • Zooming out
  • Closing all other programs on my PC before using Animate
  • Restarting the program
  • All of the above

Is there anything else I can do? My graphics card meets the requirements, but perhaps I should try something better, not just meeting, but exceeding the requirements.

Thank you!!

your frame rate is too low.

you can use a setting to maintain frame rate:

I'm working at 12fps. The issue is that the timeline freezes even at moments when there isn't much action happening

Alright, I tried that and it didn't work, BUT, what you said about 12fps being too low really hit home, so I started animating at 24fps and the preview looks so much better.

Thanks for the response.

Get into the habit of pressing Ctrl+Enter to publish a SWF. In most cases this will play well and smoothly at the required frame rate.

You will never get consistently good results with timeline playback, no matter what you do.

I understand, the problem is that if I have to do that to see the preview, it complicates things a bit for working with lip sync. I've been using Macromedia Flash Player for 15 years and never had this problem, there has to be a way D:
