Open a browser window from flash actionscript 2 in safari or firefox

I am having a problem. I found the actionscript 2 code to open a browser window, but it is not working in Safari, or Firefox. I found an old action script 1 file version 5 for the flash player that works just fine, but I am using 8 and actionscript 2 so that doesn't work for me.

Any body have any idea how I can do this?

if you're using the javascript window.open() method, that's the best you can do.  warn users to turn off their popup blocker if that doesn't work.

I don't doubt that, except all my syntax seems right. I have been having trouble even with the simple getURL command.

It is working, but in the browser it tells me flash player is trying to block it. It tells me to change the settings but how do you change the settings?
