Seth here, again. Since I couldn't get the puppet rig tool to function properly without error, I switched to the parenting layers function. This worked like a charm for a bit, but I have to save every time i get ready to start connecting the layers because every other time it causes the program to crash. What's causing this? Is it a common thing?

There's been a few tweeks and bug fixes to the parenting system in later versions. Try the 22.0.1 release.

Did you try the Flanimate plugin yet? Better to just avoid Animate's rigging tools altogether.
