Hi everyone. First, excuse me for spelling mistakes... english is not my native language.

I'm writting you cause i'm looking for that for already 3 days !

I'm using Flash CC and just downloaded Flash CS3 (to see if the problem was from me or from Flash CC)

I just want to use Flash CC to make animation and want to add a play and stop button. THAT'S ALL !

But i don't manage it !!

well. I created a movie clip (a dude walking) i called "dude" and i used it into a motion tween.

it works.

then i insert a layer i call "action". In this one, i write

stop();

the dude is still walking, but the motion twin stop. OK, good.

the, i have written

dude.stop();

i got acces of undefined property dude.

so, i searched a lot, and found something : i go on dude properties, click "export for actionscript" ; class "dude", base class "flash.display.MovieClip".

And then, when i try my

stop();

dude.stop();

i got : Call to a possibly undefined method Stop through a reference with static type Class

so, i thought it was because my movie clip is called "dude" and his class too. i changed his class name by "Man" and tried :

stop();

Man.stop();

where am i wrong ? that's not the software. I got exacly the same problem on flash cc and flash cs3

THX for answering me

You don't have to set dude to actionscript sharing. Instead, select dude on the stage and look in Proerties to make sure it has an instance name of dude. If you have any keyframes in the animation, make sure the next version of dude is also named dude.

that's the properties panel where you should be entering the name used in your actionscript.
